On Thursday ,May 11,the Election Commision Rejected the Congress’s claim to use Indian Electronic Voting machines (EVMs) in South Africa.

The Election Commision Of India responded to the allegations made by Congress Mp Randeep Singh Surjewala In a letter On May 8, Expressing concern that without due process of re-examination the EVM used earlier in South Africa was not used in the Karnataka Elections.

One also said that he used only new EVM made by Electronics Corporation Of India Limited for elections in the southern state.
 
The New EVM was used by ECIL for the Karnataka Elections 2023.

One of the sources said that the Congress was Aware that the EVM created by the new ECIL in Karnataka had been used.

The Poll panel asked Congress to ensure that serious and misinformation spreading rumors is properly exposed to the public. The Congress will have to give its answer by the evening 5 PM of May 15.

The Idea For EVM was 1^st mooted by the Election Commission in 1977,saying it would cut costs and save paper. Also the ruckus in the election will also stop and there will be protection against attempts to occupy the booth.
